The role..
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the Wales & West team.
Reporting to the Business Manager, the Business Development Manager will lead on business growth across a portfolio of media & digital agencies and their clients, direct clients and creative agencies.
Your focus will be on developing strategic customer partnerships through business intelligence, idea generation, creative portfolio pitching, negotiating trading deals and campaign delivery, maximising revenue and share into ITV and enhancing our reputation in the market.
As a team, you will be focused on delivering big ideas as well as developing new revenue streams across emerging platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Inputting into the Business Plan and taking joint responsibility for implementing it
- Delivering revenue growth and reputation within the team and area on a defined set of agencies/clients
- Building strategic senior customer relationships, focussed on driving incremental revenue and problem-solving to turnaround revenue decline/issues
- Communicating key opportunities and issues to the Business Manager as they arise
- Representing and selling all of ITV’s commercial assets across airtime and multiplatform
- Responsible for growing incremental revenue and enhancing ITV’s reputation in the market
- Working closely with agencies and clients (direct and via agency) focusing and selling how ITV can help them to achieve their business goals
- Communicate and implement best practice and consistent messages/behaviours across all offices to drive consistent delivery
- Strong peer group relationships with other Business Development Managers in team and across the business as well as with Group Managers across Partnerships, Trading and Activation
- Have a broad knowledge of what ITV can offer across all its touch points with the audience and how to create effective communications through ideas
- Develop strong strategic customer relationships with key influencers in media agencies (senior management, planners, data, digital, buyers), creative agencies and priority clients within agency
- Build pipelines of new business among new/lapsed advertisers through targeting other media and being aware of opportunities within the geographic area
- Promote ITV as a media partner of choice for non-traditional, cross-media advertising campaigns
- Forecasting performance and accurate reporting/regular comms and updates
- Integrate all platform and portfolio revenue opportunities into potential approaches where possible
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- A knowledge of the TV trading market and other media.
- Strong insight into understanding agency and client motivations/challenges /opportunities.
- Strong negotiator with a proven track record.
- Experience of creating and delivering annual business plans to deliver incremental revenue from agency accounts and priority clients.
- Ability to brief, develop and deliver bespoke, creative, cross-media communication propositions to address specific client needs.
- Commercial awareness in delivering revenue and successfully hitting targets.
