Team

The Data Architecture team sits within ITV’s Central Data function, with the Head of Data Architecture reporting directly to the Chief Data & AI Officer. The Central Data team is responsible for ITV’s strategic data platform, building out a robust, scalable platform as well as a composable set of managed Data Products to empower the organisation to make accurate and informed data-driven decisions. The team also operates as a centre of excellence to the wider business, providing Data Architecture, Data Governance and AI Innovation leadership.

The Data Architecture team has a broad role involving the oversight and design of Data Products, publishing data principles and standards for the organisation, and building an enterprise model of ITV’s data and integration landscape.

Main Purpose of Role

We\’re looking for a Senior Technical Analyst to work alongside a team of enterprise & solution data architects to understand the data landscape of the organisation and to design and deliver a set of enterprise data products for use across the organisation, powering our analytics and machine learning initiatives. In this role, you will tackle complex data challenges whilst working with business partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborating with business collaborators to ensure that proposed data solutions and models meet their requirements, and to clearly identify functional and non-functional requirements.
• Working alongside data architects, data engineers and technical collaborators to identify and document data sources, flows, and lineage.
• Producing clear design documentation to ensure engineers and stakeholders understand proposed solutions.
• Collaborating with Data Governance, Data Privacy, and Cyber Security to ensure that proposed solutions respect ITV’s stated policies around data protection.
• Supporting the end-to-end delivery of data products, often acting as the “go-to person” as conduit between business and technology teams.

Minimum Criteria

• MUST have significant experience as a technical or business analyst in data and digital products, acting as the senior or lead analysts in a significant programme of work.
• Broad & demonstrable understanding of data practices including data engineering, data architecture, data analytics, data governance, and machine learning.
• Ability to grasp complex concepts quickly and work on multiple data initiatives simultaneously.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in data exploration using SQL, APIs, and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
• Demonstrated understanding of system architecture diagrams, ERDs, and DFDs.
• Good understanding of cloud platforms, with hands-on experience of working on at least one.
