ITV Commercial launched the AdVentures brand in 2019 as ITV’s ‘commercial incubator’ for startup and scale-up businesses. We’re looking for a proactive and commercially driven AdVentures Business Manager to join our forward-thinking team. In this exciting role, you’ll work closely with the AdVentures Business Controller to identify new advertiser opportunities for ITV’s Ignite incubator, while maximising the support we give to our current partners throughout their journey with us. Your focus will be on fuelling strong business outcomes for partners and increasing the likelihood of repeat campaigns with ITV. You’ll also play a key role in supporting partners within AdVentures Invest, our media-for-equity fund—empowering them to build in-house TV buying and planning capabilities if they choose. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of ITV’s ambition to drive commercial growth and innovation across new, emerging brands. Quite simply, we play a key part in ITV’s drive towards moving from being seen merely as a ‘media owner’, to being seen as a ‘business partner’.
The team’s vision is to be More than TV, building upon ITV’s unique and winning combination of creativity and commercial strength, driven by investment in data and technology. The ITV Commercial team is responsible for bringing in the £1.9bn worth of advertising that helps fund ITV's programming. However, the Commercial team isn’t just about advertising sales. With an ever-changing marketplace, a multitude of new platforms and brands facing into a highly complex marketing landscape, it has never been a more exciting time to join the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong working relationships with ITV’s New Business Managers to share knowledge and insights
- Use tools such as Crunchbase, AdIntel, and other data sources to identify partner opportunities and category trends
- Proactively approach target brands to grow the business pipeline
- Ensure web leads are appropriately triaged with the wider team
- Communicate regularly with the AdVentures Business Controller to align on targets and outreach strategy
- Act as the lead across selected client partners, ensuring the team is supporting their success on TV
- Demonstrate general knowledge of ITV’s linear transmission footprint and regional cost differences
- Understand ITV’s linear trading audiences and cost variances
- Be familiar with the digital products ITV offers (e.g. ITVX, YouTube, AdLabs, Experian, Mastercard)
- Confidently discuss ITV measurement tools with client partners
- Plan and build linear and VOD campaigns
- Confidently explain key trading terms (e.g. TVR, Impact, Coverage, Frequency)
- Plan and cost VOD campaigns using internal availability tools and working with the ops team
- Use systems such as TechEdge to estimate and balance campaign coverage and frequency
- Build strong relationships with the ITV delivery team and other operational teams to enhance support for AdVentures partners
- Monitor the AdVentures partner portfolio weekly
- Maintain regular communication with internal teams including traffic, finance, and creative production
- Develop strong, trusted relationships directly with AdVentures partners
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria):
- Strong understanding of small businesses and the unique challenges faced by early-stage companies
- General knowledge of digital marketing (e.g. Google, social media) and TV’s role in the broader media mix
- Awareness of TV attribution models (e.g. Innovid, Adalyser)
- Ability to confidently define and explain key TV advertising terms
- Excellent relationship builder, able to gain trust quickly with a wide range of stakeholders
- A positive, resilient, ‘startup’ mindset with a proactive approach to each day
- Proven track record in media sales or buying, with several years’ experience in a proactive, client-facing role
