The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.
The Senior Legal & Business Affairs Manager will be negotiating commercial deals with external content suppliers and production companies in relation to acquisitions for the Global Content team and distributing programmes internationally to both local and global players.
This will primarily include managing acquisition negotiations with producers, co -producers,distributors, networks, licensees and licensors. As a leader with line management responsibility for LBA colleagues you will enjoy supporting, inspiring and developing colleagues and building a good team spirit across the group.
The successful candidate will create and manage processes, systems, workflows and a framework for deals that are competitive, agile and adhere to the strong ITV corporate values as well as liaising between external and internal stakeholders locally and internationally.
Key responsibilities
To negotiate, draft and advise on a range of contracts and commercial deals including sales, acquisition, licensing and distribution deals;

To line manage, develop and support LBA colleagues in the GD team. This will include: * Being the key legal contact for the Global Content Team and managing the delivery of first class legal support to those areas;

Drafting, advising on and negotiating programme acquisition agreements and supporting the Head of Legal and Business Affairs in managing the high volume of acquisition agreements;

Having line management of and supporting LBA distribution lawyers and business affairs execs and to develop and maintain a collaborative, constructive and high performing team;
To advise on all aspects of rights and business affairs including rights management and licensing, digital media, legal risks, policy and compliance issues;

To gain and maintain a good understanding of emerging business models and be informed and aware of market trends and changes in the media landscape to ensure best commercial practice;

Assisting in developing new rights systems across the group; and

A qualified lawyer with extensive legal and business affairs experience of international TV and digital distribution (7+ years PQE as a guide));

A commercially minded lawyer with experience of working in a busy, deadline driven environment, managing high volume of deals, within short timelines and a number of competing priorities.

Excellent understanding and experience of drafting television and format programme acquisition contracts and dealing with related queries).

An ability to demonstrate extensive experience, understanding and working knowledge of television/digital rights, windows, holdbacks and technologies;

An understanding of the commercial drivers for the ITV businesses.
