ITV Signpost is an award-winning production unit in the North East of England that is part of ITV, producing more than 1,500 hours of content every year for broadcasters, businesses, commercial brands and digital channels. Responsibilities
- Present information on screen in fluent and professional BSL.
- Interpret and translate written or spoken content, including song lyrics, into accessible BSL presentations.
- Prepare for filming sessions by reviewing scripts and content in advance.
- Maintain high standards of linguistic accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness.
- Contribute to the development of accessible content and promote best practice in BSL communication.
- Manage workload effectively and meet agreed production deadlines.
- Deliver a professional on‑screen appearance and approachable style and manner, on and off screen.
- Work in a busy production environment and meet very strict deadlines.
- Possess stamina and energy to work across a broad range of topics.
- Be willing and enthusiastic about developing new skills and fostering a creative and original spark.
Qualifications
- Fluency in British Sign Language (BSL).
- A minimum BSL qualification at Level 6 or equivalent.
- Experience presenting on camera or delivering content in a media, broadcast or digital environment.
- A proactive approach to work and problem‑solving.
- A positive, professional attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
