Overview

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the Wales & West team.

The role reports to the Business Manager and leads on business growth across a portfolio of media and digital agencies, direct clients, and creative agencies.

The focus is on developing strategic customer partnerships through business intelligence, idea generation, portfolio pitching, negotiating trading deals and campaigns, maximizing revenue and ITV share, and enhancing ITV’s market reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with agencies and clients (direct and via agency) to deliver revenue growth and commercial value for ITV.
  • Develop strategic senior customer relationships with influencers in media agencies (senior management, planners, data, digital, buyers), creative agencies and priority clients; identify incremental revenue opportunities and address revenue declines/issues.
  • Input into the Business Plan and take joint responsibility for implementing it; deliver revenue growth and enhance reputation within the team and area for a defined set of agencies/clients.
  • Represent and sell all of ITV’s commercial assets across airtime and multi-platform channels; communicate opportunities and issues to the Business Manager as they arise.
  • Promote ITV as a media partner of choice for non-traditional, cross-media advertising campaigns.
  • Forecast performance and provide accurate reporting and regular communications about progress; integrate platform and portfolio revenue opportunities into potential approaches where possible.
  • Work closely with agencies and clients to show how ITV can help achieve their business goals; develop and deliver bespoke, creative, cross-media propositions to address specific client needs.
  • Share best practices and consistent messaging across offices to drive uniform delivery; build strong peer relationships with other Business Development Managers and with Group Managers across Partnerships, Trading and Activation.
  • Develop pipelines of new business among new or lapsed advertisers by targeting other media and identifying opportunities within the geographic area.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of ITV offerings and how to communicate them effectively to audiences across touchpoints.

Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record.
  • Experience in creating and delivering annual business plans to deliver incremental revenue from agency accounts and priority clients.
  • Ability to brief, develop and deliver bespoke, creative cross-media communication propositions.
  • Commercial awareness in delivering revenue and achieving targets.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and motivate/galvanise teams, including the Business Development Executive.
  • Highly creative and innovative approach; tenacious problem-solving and lateral thinking.
  • Strong analytical reporting and attention to detail; confidence to challenge the norm and grow new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexible working with various options; strong team collaboration across offices.
