Position Summary
Our dedicated aftermarket division, ITT PRO Services, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to become part of our Global Aftermarket Engineering Centre, located near Glasgow in Scotland. Essential Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support to our network of service centres and sales colleagues related to centrifugal pump reliability problems & failure diagnosis.
- Provide design solutions using your expertise in material, hydraulic design and mechanical design enhancements with the overriding aim of improving our customers' equipment reliability and reducing cost of ownership.
- Provide technical product management and new product development of the aftermarket product lines.
- Provide global engineering standardization to enhance our consistency and customer responsiveness.
- Oversee junior members of staff and provide mentoring where needed.
Position Requirements
- 10 years minimum experience in rotating equipment design encompassing materials, mechanical design and hydraulic design.
- Knowledge of common rotating equipment standards such as API 610.
- Experience of using Finite Element Analysis packages for stress / structural analysis activities.
- Experience of carrying out rotordynamic analysis.
- Experience in creation of 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Experience in root cause analysis.
- Team player with ability to clearly articulate requirements both written and verbally.
- High level of competence in using all aspects of Microsoft Office – Word / Excel / PPT.
- Ability to represent ITT PRO Services at customer meetings and events as well as deputise for the Engineering Manager as required.
- MEng engineering degree or BEng with relevant experience and CEng registration.
