Role: Food Safety Coordinator
The Food Safety Coordinator plays a key role in protecting itsu’s people, customers, and brand through the smooth and efficient coordination of food safety systems, processes, and records. As the central point of contact for food safety administration, you will liaise across departments, ensure accurate documentation, track corrective actions, and provide data and insight that drive continuous improvement. You’ll also support investigations into customer complaints, ensuring trends are monitored and communicated to prevent recurrence.
Responsibilities
- Administration & Systems: Maintain accurate food safety records, databases, and documentation; ensure information is well organised, compliant, and accessible; support the menu launch initiatives and generate accurate customer data information.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the central point of contact for food safety, coordinating communication between Operations, Technical, Customer Services, and external stakeholders.
- Customer Complaint & Incident Management: Log, investigate, and track complaints and incidents (e.g. AFPs, allergens, safety issues), liaising with Customer Services and supporting timely, accurate resolutions.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collate, analyse, and trend data from audits, incidents, and complaints; produce clear reports and insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Compliance Support & Training: Assist in audits, risk assessments, enforcement visits, and delivery of training; keep up to date with legislation and support ongoing improvements to safety systems.
Qualifications
- Good understanding of health & safety, food safety and their implications on the business.
- Highly organised with strong administrative and coordination skills.
- Able to build good working relationships at all levels, guiding teams and ensuring effective communication.
- A keen eye for detail, with the ability to spot trends and translate data into meaningful insight.
- Practical problem-solving and decision-making skills, supported by a good technical knowledge of food safety and compliance.
- Confident working independently, prioritising multiple tasks, and ensuring follow-up and accountability.
- Passionate about the highest possible standards, with a logical and methodical approach to your work.
- Proven risk assessment competency (H&S and Food Safety).
