The predicted salary is between 27000 - 29000 £ per year.
The Payroll Officer would be responsible for preparing the monthly payroll up to the point of final checking. This must be both accurate and timely to meet all payroll deadlines. To triage all payroll/timesheet queries and resolve issues without handoff where possible and to carry out other finance tasks within the finance department in areas of daily financial transactional processing.
Responsibilities
- Ensure monthly payroll is accurately prepared each month and liaise with HR where necessary, including attending the monthly HR/Payroll meetings.
- Taking on the day to day responsibilities including:
- ensuring that all staff receive the correct remuneration, taking into account pension liabilities and court orders.
- ensure all staff information extracted from the weekly attendance sheets is correctly reflected in staff salaries.
- ensure all new starters are set up correctly.
- ensure all leavers are correctly processed and P45s issued.
- ensure all statutory deductions are made accurately and passed on to the appropriate agency in a timely manner.
- ensure that the required information is passed to HMRC and the Pensions Trust.
- manage the relationships and all initial communications with HMRC, DWP, TPT and MOJ relating to court orders for payments.
- ensure all payslips and pension letters are issued monthly, including our board members.
- responding to staff and other stakeholders queries in a timely and positive manner.
- ensure that issues and anomalies are investigated and to suggest solutions that fit with the legal and other payroll frameworks.
