We’ve recently launched a new store concept designed to give customers a more hands-on, engaging shopping experience. This refreshed approach is now being rolled out to new store locations across the country. To support this next stage of growth, we’re looking for a Retail Stock Controller to act as the central point of control for all retail stock and inventory performance across our retail stores.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will play a key role in connecting stores, buying, commercial and marketing teams, using data and insight to drive stock decisions that support both sales growth and operational control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse sales and stock data to optimise store stock profiles and ranging.
  • Manage and develop processes for retail product selection and range changes (New products, Discontinued products etc).
  • Ensure stock profiles reflect seasonal trends, demand patterns and local requirements.
  • Adjust stock holding to support promotional plans, new product launches and campaigns.
  • Balance sales opportunity with sensible stock value, holding levels and availability.
  • Provide data-led recommendations for use of promotional and prime selling space (dump bins, counter-top, feature bays, etc.).
  • Support and help coordinate merchandising activity linked to promotions and key product launches/Product headliners.
  • Work closely with store managers to review performance, availability and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Buying, Commercial and Marketing teams to align ranging, promotions and stock strategy.
  • Monitor slow-moving, excess and discontinued stock, proposing actions to improve sell-through.
  • Develop reporting, KPIs and stock performance metrics for the retail network.
  • Check and help co-ordinate the merching of products to support promotional activity.
  • Continuously review and improve stock processes, systems and controls.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience using sales and stock data.
  • Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally with multiple departments.
  • Experience working in a retail, stock, merchandising or trading environment.
  • Strong Excel skills (forecasting, analysis, reporting).
  • Highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused.
  • Thrives in a fast-moving, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible approach with a hands-on mindset.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
  • Lives within easy reach of Harlow, Essex.
