We are looking for Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors for a leading construction company specializing in cultural heritage projects. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality work, they take pride in preserving and restoring historic buildings, monuments, and sites of cultural significance. We are seeking an experienced and driven Quantity Surveyor to join the team and to help continue to deliver outstanding results within the heritage sector.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the costs and financial aspects of our heritage projects. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with the highest quality standards. Your expertise in the heritage sector will be vital to the success of our ongoing and upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for cultural heritage projects
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Conducting cost analysis and value engineering to ensure cost-effective project delivery
  • Managing contract documentation, including agreements and variations
  • Overseeing the measurement and valuation of work carried out
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and consultants to resolve any cost-related issues
  • Providing advice on contract matters, including claims, disputes, and negotiations
  • Preparing tender submissions and assisting with project tendering processes
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in the heritage sector
  • Knowledge of conservation practices, regulations, and building methods specific to cultural heritage projects
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Experience with traditional building techniques and materials used in heritage projects
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.)
  • Excellent financial management and cost control skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with software such as CostX, QS software, or similar tools
