Night Operations Supervisor – £35,000 – Colnbrook
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Night Operations Supervisor to join their busy warehouse and logistics operation in Colnbrook.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering operational excellence.
You will be responsible for leading the night shift team, ensuring customer shipments are processed safely, accurately, and on time while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations
- Supervise the day-to-day running of the night warehouse operation.
- Ensure all shipments are processed accurately and within agreed service levels.
- Allocate labour efficiently to meet operational demands.
- Monitor workflow and respond quickly to changing priorities.
- Drive productivity, quality, and operational performance.
- Resolve operational issues and escalate where necessary.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop the warehouse team.
- Conduct daily shift briefings and handovers.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and performance.
- Coach, mentor, and support employee development.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training.
- Customer Service
- Deliver excellent service and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments.
- Support investigations into customer queries and service issues.
- Build strong working relationships across the business.
- Compliance & Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with customs, security, Health & Safety, GDPR, and Dangerous Goods regulations where applicable.
- Promote a positive safety culture.
- Carry out warehouse inspections and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Reduce operational waste and unnecessary costs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Full UK Driving Licence.
Previous warehouse experience.
Experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor within a warehouse or logistics environment.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Good PC skills, including email communication.
Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Positive, proactive attitude.
Flexibility to support operational requirements.
Desirable
Logistics industry experience.
Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge.
Forklift Licence.
Dangerous Goods awareness.
Security awareness.
First Aid qualification.
