Candidate required: Estimator/Senior Estimator – Residential Job Type: Permanent Start date: Immediate Industry: Construction professionals South Location: Bournemouth Salary & package dependant on experience: £DOE + Package The role & about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS Building People (Southampton) are searching for an experienced Estimator/Senior Estimator to join an award winning, dynamic and forward-thinking Residential Developer based in Bournemouth. Due to sustained and continuous growth as well as an order book stretching well past 2024 they are looking to add to their commercial team. The successful candidate can have a Residential, Main Contracting or Civil Engineering background. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reporting to the Commercial Director the Estimator will be producing detailed cost plans for a mix of volume residential schemes Assist in developing best practices in refining the estimating function for continuous improvement. Record and update benchmarking analysis of Project Cost Plans Provide accurate quantity take-offs. Obtain quotes that match design and specification to agreed timescales. Produce cost plans in detailed formats to enable review by the project and development teams Develop each budget / cost plan through the key stages of pre-acquisition, acquisition, pre-planning, planning submission, stage 4 (pre-construction / contract) and stage 5 (construction). Maintain a consistent format in order that change can be tracked through the various stages. List design and supporting information/calculations used to produce cost plan(s) including all correspondence. Highlight all cost variances. Benchmark and compare each cost plan against the Cost model Produce alternative costings and investigate alternatives for design and specification as part of value engineering, be proactive advising the design team of alternatives during design stage. Review, interrogate and reach satisfactory agreement of Project cost plan with the development team Develop agreed cost plan into individual trade and preliminary packages budgets, including allocation and management of Contingency and Risk Allowances Produce labour only targets, labour plant and material allowances for trade packages that are identified as potential for carrying out in-house. The ideal candidate The ideal candidate would have experience working as an Estimator/Senior Estimator for a Residential Developer, Housebuilder, Main Contractor or Civil Engineering company.
