We are currently recruiting multiple qualified 2391 Electrical Testers for an ongoing Testing & Inspection contract covering domestic properties. This is a high-volume, well-supported contract offering consistent work, materials provided and strong operational support.

Role overview

The role involves carrying out 2391 Testing & Inspection works within occupied social housing properties, including local authority and housing association homes. Engineers will be responsible for completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in line with BS 7671 and current wiring regulations, identifying C1, C2 and FI observations, and undertaking associated remedial works to ensure properties are compliant and safe. Works are conducted in live, tenanted environments, requiring a professional, respectful and customer-focused approach at all times. Remedials typically include rectification of code breaches such as upgrading consumer units, replacing accessories, installing or replacing smoke and CO alarms, correcting bonding issues, and carrying out minor electrical repairs. Engineers must be confident working independently, managing access arrangements, accurately completing certification, and ensuring all work meets regulatory and client standards while maintaining minimal disruption to residents.

Scope of Works

  • Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
  • Identification and rectification of C1 and C2 faults
  • Associated remedial works including:
  • Smoke alarms
  • CO detectors
  • Socket replacements
  • Minor electrical repairs

Engineers typically complete around 4 tests per day, with remedial works carried out where required.

Engineer Requirements

  • 18th Edition (BS7671)
  • 2391 (or equivalent Testing & Inspection qualification)
  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification (NVQ or equivalent)
  • You must hold ECS or CSCS, or be willing to obtain this prior to starting
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Calibration Certificate

Desirable:

  • Gold Card (if applicable)
  • Experience completing high-volume EICRs
  • Experience working within domestic housing contracts
