Long-term temp role | Social Housing Maintenance Role
Covering a geographical area covering CB10, CB11, CM22, CM23, and CM24
Own van would be the preference, but business mileage will be paid weekly.

We are currently seeking an experienced General Builder / Wet Trade Multi-Trader with skills in Bricklaying, Paving, Slabbing, Concreting and Patch Plastering to join a busy social housing maintenance team working across properties in CB10, CB11, CM22, CM23, and CM24. This is a long-term temporary position carrying out a mixture of day-to-day repairs, some planned works, and general maintenance within occupied properties. The ideal candidate will be a strong external works tradesperson with reliable multi-trade skills and the ability to work independently, delivering high-quality repairs to a good standard. They should also have thermal boarding experience and ideally additional skills in carpentry or plumbing.
Key Responsibilities
- Bricklaying (Garden walls, face work, pointing etc.)
- Completing minor patch work through to potential full board and skim, renewals and installations in occupied properties
- Undertaking multi-trade to exterior social housing properties, with works including:
- Paving
- Slabbing
- Concreting
- Aid and adaption works i.e. creating ramps to external properties
- General Painting (internal)
- Working towards a first-time fix wherever possible
- Planning and managing your own daily workload to meet contract SLAs
- Logging works accurately and completing daily job sheets
- Ensuring all work meets high standards of safety and quality
- Providing a professional, respectful service to tenants
- Reporting any additional or follow-on works required
- Maintaining van stock, equipment and materials
- Working independently or as part of a team when required
Essential Criteria
- Experience working in occupied residential settings
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently across a dispersed housing patch
Desirable Criteria
- Previous social housing repairs experience
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering or Bricklaying or time-served equivalent
- Experience using PDAs for job sheets
- Understanding of responsive repairs and maintenance environments
- Knowledge of SOR codes would be helpful but not essential
