SW-007-Plumber-294 Plumber – Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) £220 - £230 Per Day Working for an Established Maintenance Contractor Long-Term Temporary Contract Working near Devizes, Wiltshire This role will be working within a Category B or C Prison Ideally candidates will have current or previous EL1 Prison Security Clearance Position Good to Knows * Working within a Category B or C Prison environment * Ideally candidates will have current or previous EL1 Prison Security Clearance * NO TOOLS REQUIRED – ALL SUPPLIED * Monday to Friday – No Shift Work * Single-site working – No travelling between properties * Parking available on site Overview ITS Property Maintenance are working in partnership with a national maintenance contractor to recruit an experienced Maintenance Plumber to undertake Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), reactive plumbing repairs and general maintenance within an HMP prison facility near Devizes, Wiltshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plumber looking for consistent, long-term work at a single location. Previous experience working within HMP prisons, secure establishments, commercial buildings or other custodial environments would be particularly advantageous. Candidates who currently hold or have previously held EL1 Prison Security Clearance are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities * Carrying out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across prison accommodation, communal areas and operational facilities * Diagnosing and repairing plumbing faults, leaks, blockages and defective fittings * Maintaining and repairing hot and cold water systems, pipework, valves and associated plumbing installations * Repairing and replacing taps, toilets, basins, showers, cisterns and other sanitary ware * Undertaking repairs to internal drainage systems, waste pipes and traps * Carrying out minor plumbing installations, replacements and remedial works * Inspecting and maintaining water systems, including identifying potential defects and required repairs * Supporting planned maintenance programmes, including water hygiene and legionella control procedures where appropriately trained * Completing relevant PPM records, maintenance reports and job documentation * Working safely within a secure prison environment, adhering to all security procedures and site regulations * Liaising with site maintenance teams and supervisors to ensure works are completed efficiently and safely What We're Looking For NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating, City & Guilds or equivalent Previous experience working as a Maintenance Plumber within commercial buildings, FM, public sector, social housing or secure environments Strong plumbing fault-finding and reactive maintenance skills Good understanding of domestic and commercial plumbing systems Experience maintaining hot and cold water systems and sanitary installations Good understanding of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) Ability to work independently and as part of a site maintenance team Previous or current EL1 Prison Security Clearance would be highly desirable Willingness to undertake the necessary security and vetting checks Experience with water hygiene, legionella awareness and commercial plumbing systems would be advantageous. Working Within a Secure Environment Due to the nature of the prison environment, candidates must be comfortable working within a secure establishment and following strict security procedures.
