SW-007-Sparkie-280 Electrician – Planned Maintenance (PPM) £220 - £230 Per Day Working for a Maintenance Contractor Long term temp role **This role will be working in Cat B or C Prisons** **Ideally you should have previous or current EL1 Clearance** Position Good to Knows * Working within Category B or C Prison environments * Ideally candidates will have current or previous EL1 Prison Security Clearance * NO TOOLS REQUIRED – ALL SUPPLIED * Monday to Friday – No Shift Work * Single-site working – No travelling between properties * Parking available on site Overview ITS Property Maintenance are working in partnership with a national maintenance contractor to recruit an experienced Maintenance Electrician to undertake Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), electrical inspections, testing and reactive repairs within an HMP prison facility in the Norwich area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrician looking for consistent, long-term work at a single location. Previous experience working within HMP prisons, secure establishments or other custodial environments would be particularly advantageous. Candidates who currently hold or have previously held EL1 Prison Security Clearance are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities * Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across prison accommodation, communal areas and operational facilities * Electrical fault finding, diagnosis and repairs * Undertaking EICRs, electrical inspections, testing and certification * Completing electrical remedial works and minor installations * Consumer unit/distribution board repairs and replacements where required * Maintaining electrical systems, lighting, power supplies and associated installations * Ensuring compliance with BS7671 and current IET Wiring Regulations * Completing relevant maintenance records, inspection reports and certification * Working safely within a secure prison environment, adhering to all security procedures and site regulations * Liaising with site maintenance teams and supervisors to ensure works are completed efficiently and safely What We're Looking For NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent Previous electrical maintenance experience, ideally within commercial buildings, FM, public sector or secure environments Strong fault-finding and electrical testing skills Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance Ability to work independently and as part of a site maintenance team Previous or current EL1 Prison Security Clearance would be highly desirable Willingness to undertake the necessary security and vetting checks Working Within a Secure Environment Due to the nature of the prison environment, candidates must be comfortable working within a secure establishment and following strict security procedures Personal mobile phones and certain personal belongings will not be permitted beyond designated security areas All tools and equipment will be supplied and subject to strict security controls Daily security procedures and checks will apply Candidates must be comfortable working around prisoners and prison operational staff What's on Offer * £220 - £230 per day * Long-term temporary contract * Monday to Friday working * No shift work * Single-site location in Norwich * All tools and equipment supplied * Opportunity for consistent work with an established national maintenance contractor Next Step to Apply If you're an experienced Maintenance Electrician with strong electrical testing and fault-finding skills, particularly if you have previously worked within an HMP prison environment or held EL1 security clearance, we'd welcome your application.
