Working for a Maintenance Contractor based out of Saffron Walden (CB11 4LH)
Long-term temp role | Social Housing Maintenance
Role good to knows:
- Covering a geographical area covering CB10, CB11, CM22, CM23, and CM24
- Own van would be the preference, but business mileage will be paid weekly
- If you don’t have your own transport, please still apply as a hire option could be available
- Will require Part P qualification (essential)
You will ideally have some foreman experience as the role requires some overseeing of other trades.
We are working with a reputable contractor on a new housing association repairs contract delivering quality repairs and maintenance installations across housing stock left and right of CB10, CB11, CM22, CM23, and CM24. Due to a recent contract win, the contractor is expanding their in-house team and are now looking for a skilled Plumber Multi-Trader to join their Saffron Walden-based team, delivering bathroom, kitchen and general housing repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering all aspects of repairs across tenanted social housing properties
- Undertaking planned plumbing installations and remedials as part of a scheduled upgrade programme
- Repairing and refitting showers
- Repairs to sanitary wear
- Repairing and fault-finding water issues in tenanted properties
- Install, maintain, and repair:
- Taps, toilets, basins, sinks
- Baths and shower units
- Hot and cold water systems
- Soil stacks and waste pipework
- Wall and floor tiling
- Patch plastering
- Painting and decorating
- Basic carpentry
- Splash back tiling
- Minor electrical works (in line with Part P)
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a qualified plumber or time-served with strong plumbing skills
- Ability to carry out additional multi-trade duties to a high standard (tiling, carpentry, patch plastering, decorating)
- Experience working within the social housing sector, particularly within maintenance or a repairs contract
- Full UK driving licence – essential (company van and fuel card provided)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualifications/time-served)
- Part P qualification (essential)
- Proven experience working in social housing repairs & maintenance
- Experience working in occupied / tenanted properties
- Strong multi-trade skills alongside plumbing
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Competent using PDA systems and able to follow job instructions electronically
- Strong customer service approach and tidy work ethic
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload across dispersed sites
- Knowledge of SOR codes and planned maintenance delivery standards (desirable)
