SW-007-ElectricalQA-272 Electrical Tester / Surveyor – Progression to NICEIC QS £45,000 - £50,000 per annum Company Vehicle & Fuel Card Permanent Position Based in Hemel Hempstead Looking to come off the tools and progress your electrical career? Overview ITS Property Maintenance are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Tester / Electrician who is looking to take the next step away from being fully tools-based and develop into a more technical Electrical Surveyor / Supervisory role. This isn't necessarily a role for an established Electrical QS. Our client is looking for someone with a strong electrical testing and technical background who can develop with the business, gradually taking greater responsibility for surveying, scoping, quoting and electrical compliance – with the opportunity to ultimately hold the company's NICEIC certification as their nominated Qualifying Supervisor. The Role The position will be a mixture of site and office-based work. You may typically carry out around one electrical inspection/test per day, with the remainder of your time focused on the technical and commercial side of electrical works. This will include * Electrical inspection, testing and certification * Visiting properties to identify and survey required electrical works * Building scopes of work from test results, inspections and client requirements * Turning identified works into clear quotations * Producing specifications/packages of work for subcontractors to deliver * Reviewing electrical works for quality and compliance * Providing technical support to operational teams and subcontractors * Liaising with clients regarding required and recommended works * Supporting NICEIC compliance and electrical certification * Developing towards becoming the company's NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor Who We're Looking For This could be an excellent progression opportunity for an experienced Electrical Tester, Testing Electrician or Electrical Supervisor who has reached the stage where they want to move away from being on the tools full-time. You don't need to already be an Electrical QS or have previously managed a team. We're more interested in finding someone with the right technical grounding, personality and ambition to develop into the position. Ideally you will have * Strong domestic electrical experience * Good inspection and testing experience * 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations * Good knowledge of BS7671 * Experience identifying remedial works from electrical inspections/EICRs * Ability to survey and scope electrical works * Good communication and organisational skills * Confidence dealing with clients, subcontractors and operational teams * Full UK Driving Licence * Experience within social housing, occupied domestic properties or property maintenance would be particularly useful Why Consider This Role? This isn't simply a sideways move into another existing Electrical Supervisor position. It's a genuine progression opportunity for somebody who wants to use their electrical testing and practical experience to build a longer-term career away from being permanently on the tools. Testing → Surveying → Scoping & Quoting → Technical Oversight → NICEIC QS What's on Offer * £45,000 - £50,000 per annum * Company vehicle & fuel card * Permanent position * Predominantly office/technical-based role with regular site involvement * Reduced day-to-day tools work * Development into surveying, estimating and technical compliance * Opportunity to progress into the company's nominated NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor * Long-term career progression with an established maintenance contractor Next Step If you're an experienced Electrical Tester or Electrician who enjoys the technical side of the industry and you're considering your next step away from being permanently on the tools, this could be an excellent opportunity. You don't need to be the finished article – the client is looking for someone with the electrical knowledge, testing background and potential to grow into the position.
