Working for a Maintenance Contractor based out of Saffron Walden (CB11 4LH), this is a long-term temp role in social housing maintenance.
Key elements of the role and your responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating a core skilled trade of carpentry and the ability to undertake a range of multi-trade duties including:
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Tiling (mainly splash backs)
- Painting and decorating
- Patch plastering
- General property maintenance
- Experience of working in occupied residential properties, ideally in a domestic tenanted properties or a social housing setting.
- Delivering excellent customer service and supporting residents with reactive repairs and maintenance across a portfolio of properties.
- Completing daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job.
- Working closely with schedulers and planners to meet contract SLA delivery in a timely manner.
- Advising your supervisor on any issues or challenges that require additional support.
- Working both on your own or in a team if other trades are required to complete a repair.
- Working in a timely and productive manner.
What you need to bring to the role as the successful applicant:
- Strong carpentry background with the ability to carry out multi-trade works.
- NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or the ability to show that you are “time served”.
- Your own 110v power tools and hand tools.
- Ability to manage and carry out booked repairs in a dispersed region.
- Previous experience of social housing repairs, voids, or planned works.
- Adhering to company health and safety guidelines.
- Strong customer service skills due to repairs taking place in occupied properties.
- Tidy work ethic, ensuring all adjoining work areas are kept clean and damage free.
- Problem solving and decision making skills.
- Attention to detail, accountability, and initiative.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
Hours and pay:
