Working for a Housing Association Based around Eastleigh Overview * We are currently recruiting for an experienced Painter to join a busy inhouse maintenance team working across residential properties in Eastleigh * This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, skilled and motivated Painter who is confident delivering high-quality decorating works within occupied and void homes * Deliver high-quality painting/decorating and wall tiling within residential properties, planning each job effectively and completing works to specification (where provided) and to customer expectations. * Complete damp and mould remediation in line with product and manufacturer instructions, including wash-down treatment of affected internal areas. Carry out external cleaning where required (e.g., windows, doors, soffits and fascias). * Prepare surfaces to ensure a proper finish, including minor wall repairs to support tiling. For external decoration tasks, carry out small repairs to timber joinery (such as windows, doors and porches) and associated elements like guttering, soffits and fascias. * Organise and manage your daily workload, attending appointments within agreed time slots and delivering works in line with priorities and scheduled customer bookings. Maintain clear communication with the scheduling team and escalate any material delays to your line manager. * Support colleagues and other trades when required, contributing to an efficient, joined-up service. * Provide a professional, courteous service, building positive relationships with residents and representing the organisation to a high standard at every visit * The role offers consistent work, a supportive team environment, and the use of a company van and fuel card throughout the assignment * This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering a professional finish, is comfortable working in domestic properties, and has experience managing their own workload across a set patch Day-to-Day Responsibilities As a Painter within the the team you will: * Completing internal painting and decorating tasks, ensuring a high-quality, long-lasting finish * Preparing surfaces thoroughly, including sanding, filling, sealing, stain-blocking and minor remedial prep work * Ensuring treated areas affected by damp or mould are fully restored to a clean and professional standard * Identifying and reporting any further property issues to supervisors or surveyors * Managing your daily workload effectively, completing work within agreed timescales and budgets * Maintaining excellent customer service while working in occupied homes, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants * Using materials efficiently and ensuring your van and tools are kept in good working condition * Travelling across the SO postcodes in a company-provided vehicle What We’re Looking For Essential Experience & Skills: * Proven background as a Painter or Painter & Decorator * Strong preparation skills, including all aspects of surface repair and finishing * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Confidence working in residential, occupied properties * Strong communication and customer service skills * Good organisational skills and ability to manage your workload * Full UK Driving Licence (van and fuel card provided) * No more than 5 points What You Will Receive * Competitive hourly rate of £21 – £22 per hour * 12-week temporary assignment with potential for extension * Company van and fuel card provided * Opportunity to contribute to improving the quality and safety of tenants’ homes Next step to apply for this Painter role: As a candidate ideally with similar experience, you will already know the technical specifications of this role, but following your application of interest, you will have the role explained in more detail ITS Property Maintenance are acting as an employment business for this vacancy To achieve the upper pay bracket you must show good experience of working on social housing repair contracts.
