SW-007-CarpMulti-279 Carpenter Multi – Planned Maintenance (PPM) £220 - £230 Per Day Working for a Maintenance Contractor Working in London HMP Prisons Long term temp role **This role will be working in Cat B or C Prisons** **Ideally you should have previous or current EL1 Clearance** Position good to knows We are working in partnership with a national maintenance contractor to recruit a skilled Carpenter to deliver Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) within a secure facility in London This is a long-term contract opportunity based at a single site within a Category C or B Prison, where you’ll carry out plumbing maintenance across accommodation and service areas. * **Ideally you should have previous or current EL1 Clearance** * **NO TOOLS REQUIRED – ALL ARE SUPPLIED** * **No shift work – Monday to Friday only** * **No transport needed, but parking is available if required** Important good to knows * The facility is a secure unit and therefore personal items (mobile phones) will not be allowed past security checks daily * There will be a key holder in each team and as a team you will be responsible for the safe movement, use, storage and removal of a work tool chest and required materials to complete set works * The facility could be challenging environment for some due to it’s secure nature and security checks, so you must be happy working in and around a secure facility which houses patients and inmates Key elements of the role and your responsibilities * Here you will be focused on the day to day occupied repairs and maintenance of a secure unit and its affiliated facilities * For this role you should be able to demonstrate a core skilled trade of carpentry: * Where you will be carrying carpentry related tasks such as hanging doors, lock repair, flooring repairs and general 2nd property maintenance You will also need skills in ideally the following areas: * Like for like plumbing repairs * Painting and decorating * Patch plastering * And general property maintenance * Experience of working in occupied residential properties, hospitals, prisons, sheltered accommodation and immigration centres would be an advantage but not essential * As a Carpenter Multi Skilled operative you will deliver excellent customer service and support staff with reactive repairs and maintenance across a portfolio of the secure units facilities, with primary focus of accommodation units * Your work will be split on a job to job basis over a planned route with a wide range of general repairs and maintenance tasks undertaken on each job * You will closely with the facilities estate management to meet contract SLA delivery in a timely manner * You should have the ability to advise your supervisor on any issues or challenges that require additional support * Happy working in a team of two all day and with other trades as and when required to complete a repair * Complete daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken * Working in a timely and productive manner What you need to bring to the role as the successful applicant to the Strong Multi-trade background with the ability to carry out multi-trade works You should have a NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in at least one of your skill sets or the ability to show that you are “time served”.
