Overview
ITS Property Maintenance are working with a reputable and growing contractor delivering high-quality planned kitchen replacement programmes within the social housing sector. Due to continued contract growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Kitchen Fitter to join the team, delivering planned kitchen installations across occupied and void properties throughout Milton Keynes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out full kitchen rip-outs and installations within social housing properties
- Installing kitchen units, worktops, plinths, cornice, pelmets and associated fixtures
- Completing first and second fix carpentry associated with kitchen installations
- Undertaking basic plumbing works including sink and tap changes
- Completing minor tiling, patch plastering and making good following installation works
- Carrying out basic decorating where required to complete installations
- Working safely and professionally within occupied properties, ensuring excellent customer care at all times
- Recording completed works, labour and materials via PDA or electronic job management systems
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and client quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience fitting kitchens within domestic or social housing environments
- Strong carpentry and kitchen installation skills
- Ability to undertake associated multi-trade works including basic plumbing, tiling, patch plastering and decorating
- Previous experience working on planned maintenance or refurbishment programmes within social housing
- Full UK Driving Licence and own van
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry & Joinery (or time-served experience)
- Comfortable using PDA systems to receive and complete work instructions
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional approach when working in residents' homes
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Knowledge of planned maintenance contracts and SOR codes would be advantageous
