We are currently seeking an experienced Plumber to join a busy social housing maintenance team working across properties in B29 5UP. This is a long-term temporary position carrying out a mixture of day-to-day repairs, planned works, and general maintenance within occupied properties. The ideal candidate will be a strong 2nd Fix Plumber and have the ability to work independently, delivering high-quality repairs to a good standard.
Key Responsibilities:- Delivering all aspects of repairs across tenanted and void social housing properties
- Undertaking planned plumbing installations and remedials as part of scheduled upgrade programmes
- Carry out reactive repairs in occupied social housing (e.g. leaks, blocked drains, faulty taps, toilets, showers)
- Perform maintenance and minor installations (pipework, sanitary ware, valves, cylinders)
- Diagnose faults quickly and provide effective solutions
- Ensure all work meets housing standards and compliance regulations
- Working in occupied properties with consideration for residents and their homes
- Maintaining excellent customer service and representing the company to a high standard
- Recording works via PDA system including labour and materials used
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety protocols and is completed to time and quality KPIs
- Proven experience as a qualified plumber or time-served with strong plumbing skills
- Experience working within the social housing sector, particularly within maintenance or a repairs contract
- Full UK driving licence – essential (company van and fuel card provided)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualifications/time-served)
- Competent using PDA systems and able to follow job instructions electronically
- Strong customer service approach and tidy work ethic
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload across dispersed sites
- Knowledge of SOR codes and planned maintenance delivery standards (desirable)
