We are looking for an experienced Gas & Water Plumber to join a busy property maintenance team, carrying out repairs and maintenance within social housing properties. This role is mainly focused on domestic plumbing works, with around 85% plumbing and 15% gas-related work, so the ideal candidate will be a strong plumber who is also Gas Safe registered and confident completing basic domestic gas tasks when required.

Duties will include:

  • Carrying out day-to-day plumbing repairs in occupied and void social housing properties
  • Repairing and replacing taps, wastes, traps, pipework, toilets, showers, baths and basins
  • Investigating and repairing leaks, blockages and general water/plumbing faults
  • Completing minor installation and maintenance works
  • Carrying out occasional gas-related works where required
  • Ensuring all works are completed safely, professionally and to a high standard
  • Working in tenants’ homes and providing good customer service
  • Completing job notes, paperwork and updates through a PDA or mobile system

Requirements:

  • Gas Safe registration – essential
  • Strong domestic plumbing experience
  • Experience working in social housing, maintenance or domestic repairs preferred
  • Confident working in occupied properties
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily workload

This role would suit a Plumber / Gas Safe Plumber / Gas & Water Plumber / Plumbing Multi Trader who is mainly looking for plumbing repairs and maintenance work, with a small amount of gas work included.

To achieve the upper pay bracket you must show good experience of working on social housing repair contracts.
