ITS Property Maintenance are recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Fitter Multi-trader to carry out works for an established regional maintenance contractor. Here you will deliver essential fire safety improvement works across occupied and void domestic properties covering both MOD and Social Housing within 45 minutes of Andover.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term, ongoing work with a well-established contractor that continues to secure major social housing and compliance contracts throughout North Hampshire/South Wiltshire. The Role:
Working on behalf of a leading social housing contractor, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality fire door installations and remedial works within occupied and unoccupied residential properties. You will ensure every installation complies fully with current fire safety legislation while maintaining excellent customer service standards when working in residents' homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation of complete fire door sets
- Fire door upgrades and remedial works
- Installing frames, hinges, closers, locks, handles, intumescent strips and ironmongery
- Routing and preparing doors for compliant installations
- Carrying out adjustments to existing fire doors
- Ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations
- Working respectfully within occupied homes
- Completing quality assurance documentation
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
Multi-trade skills required:
- Undertaking planned carpentry installations and remedials as part of scheduled upgrade programmes
- Supporting with multi-trade tasks including:
- Splash back tiling
- Minor external works
- Patch plastering and making good
- Painting and decorating to a professional standard
- Basic plumbing
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Experience fitting fire doors within occupied domestic properties
- Previous social housing, housing association, MOD or local authority experience preferred
- Strong understanding of fire door compliance
- Knowledge of passive fire protection
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service
What You Need to Bring:
- Proven Fire Door Fitting experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own Van
- Own battery-powered tools including drill driver, impact driver, SDS drill, router, planer, second-fix pin gun, track saw, mitre saw, spirit levels and mastic gun
- References covering previous Fire Door contracts
- Fire Door, NVQ Carpentry or FIRAS/BM TRADA qualifications advantageous
