We are working in partnership with a highly respected, privately owned construction and property services company who are seeking an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join their successful Bristol-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of multiple construction projects, lead high-performing teams, and play a key role in delivering projects safely, on time, and to budget.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will provide leadership across your projects, ensuring company procedures are followed and business and project objectives are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and champion high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across all projects
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
- Plan ahead to identify project risks and opportunities, proposing practical solutions
- Take full ownership of project programmes, monitoring progress and implementing corrective action where required
- Manage the design process and consultant teams to ensure information aligns with budget, procurement, and construction timescales
- Promote company vision, values, and a culture of continuous improvement
- Set clear goals and development objectives for project teams
- Empower managers to make informed and appropriate decisions
- Hold profit and loss responsibility, working closely with the Quantity Surveyor to achieve financial targets
- Record, report, and resolve delays or disruptions to works progress
About You
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Contracts Manager role
- Strong background in D&B, framework, two-stage, and negotiated contracts
- Solid pre-construction knowledge, with the ability to support tendering activities
- A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
