The role & about the client: ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a reputable main contractor for an experienced Technical Services Manager (M&E) to join their team in St Albans. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with a strong pipeline of commercial projects across London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all Mechanical & Electrical aspects of the construction process, ensuring quality delivery and compliance with technical and regulatory standards. You will work closely with site teams, consultants, and subcontractors, playing a vital role in ensuring M&E services are coordinated and delivered in line with programme, budget, and design requirements.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage M&E packages from pre-construction through to completion
- Review technical submissions, drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate with subcontractors and oversee site installation works
- Ensure compliance with building regulations and health & safety standards
- Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical issues
- Support value engineering and design development reviews
- Liaise with consultants, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth delivery
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Proven experience in a similar M&E coordination or management role
- Background working with a main contractor or M&E subcontractor
- Sound knowledge of UK Building Regulations and M&E services integration
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage technical details while maintaining overall project objectives
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services
Salary: 45,000 per annum
