The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager on behalf of an established cladding and facades specialist contractor, covering projects across the South of England.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of multiple live cladding/facades projects at any one time, typically managing a portfolio of 2–3 projects simultaneously across the region. This is a varied, regionally-based role offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist contractor and take responsibility for the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of facades projects, from pre-construction through to practical completion. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of 2–3 cladding/facades projects concurrently across the South of England.
- Taking responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from mobilisation through to practical completion.
- Planning and coordinating site activities across multiple projects to ensure works remain on programme.
- Managing subcontractors, trades and site operatives across each project.
- Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics.
- Reading and working from drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
- Monitoring workmanship and ensuring projects are completed to the required quality standards.
- Carrying out regular site visits and monitoring progress across all live projects.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
- Chairing and attending site and project meetings where required.
- Identifying potential issues and resolving problems efficiently across projects.
- Monitoring project progress against agreed programmes and budgets.
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with current health and safety and CDM requirements, including current fire safety/building safety regulations relevant to facades.
- Maintaining site records, reports and relevant project documentation.
- Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring works are completed in line with agreed requirements.
- Assisting with variations, additional works and changes to scope.
- Coordinating snagging, defects and outstanding works through to completion.
- Supporting the handover of completed projects, including O&M documentation.
- Providing regular progress updates to senior management.
- Travelling between project sites across the South of England as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working as a Project Manager within the cladding, facades or wider building envelope/rainscreen sector.
- Proven experience managing multiple live projects at the same time.
- Strong knowledge of facade systems (e.g. rainscreen, curtain walling, render, ACM/composite panels).
- Good understanding of current fire safety and building safety regulations as they apply to facades.
- Experience managing subcontractors, trades and site teams across more than one project.
- Good understanding of construction programmes and project delivery.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
- Strong understanding of health and safety and CDM requirements.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise across competing site demands.
- A proactive approach to managing site issues and finding practical solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to liaise confidently with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Relevant Project/Site Management qualifications and CSCS card (Black/Gold).
- SMSTS is essential.
- First Aid at Work and other relevant site qualifications would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel across the South of England.
