The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Foreman on behalf of a well-established groundworks contractor delivering a large-scale residential development in Hampshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor on a 12-month contract, overseeing housing groundworks and associated infrastructure works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising day-to-day site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Supervising day-to-day site operations across housing groundworks projects.
- Managing site operatives, subcontractors and plant to ensure works are completed safely and on programme.
- Overseeing drainage, foundations, groundworks, manholes and kerbing installations.
- Supervising Section 278 (S278) highway works in accordance with project specifications and local authority requirements.
- Coordinating labour, materials and plant to maximise productivity on site.
- Ensuring all works are completed to the required quality standards and project specifications.
- Carrying out daily site inspections and promoting a strong health and safety culture.
- Liaising with the Site Manager, engineers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitoring progress and addressing any on-site issues in a timely manner.
- Supporting the successful completion of the project within programme timescales.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as a Foreman on housing groundworks or residential infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of drainage, groundworks, manholes, kerbing and external works.
- Experience supervising Section 278 (S278) highway works.
- Ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple work activities.
- SSSTS or SMSTS Certificate (essential).
- CSCS Card (essential).
- First Aid at Work (desirable).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
