Job Type: Freelance Start Date: Immediate Industry: Civil Engineering / Water Infrastructure Location: Southampton, Hampshire Salary & Package: Negotiable The Role & About the Client ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major water treatment infrastructure project in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor working on a high-profile scheme within the water sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day engineering activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme. Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Setting out and surveying for civil engineering works. Producing and maintaining accurate site records. Checking drawings and resolving engineering queries. Managing QA documentation and ensuring works meet specification. Liaising with the Site Manager, Project Manager and subcontractors. Ensuring works are completed in accordance with health and safety requirements. Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate records. Assisting with planning and coordinating daily site activities. Monitoring quality of workmanship throughout the project. Supporting the successful delivery of the project to programme. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects. Water sector experience is highly desirable. Experience setting out using robotic total stations and GPS equipment. Good understanding of QA procedures and engineering documentation. CSCS Card (essential). SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable). First Aid at Work (desirable). Full UK Driving Licence. Strong communication and organisational skills.
