About the Role & Client
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a reputable and well-established specialist subcontractor operating across Surrey and the South East. The company has built a strong reputation for quality and reliability, delivering expert services in scaffolding, brickwork, and roofing.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Scaffold Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates while also supporting the commercial management of scaffolding packages across a diverse range of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced professionals and ambitious assistants looking to develop their career within a supportive and well-established business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for scaffolding projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to assess project requirements
- Conducting material take-offs and preparing accurate cost plans and bills of quantities
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Managing project costs, valuations, and variations where required
- Analysing labour, material, and programme requirements to ensure accurate pricing
- Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions
- Supporting the commercial and pre-construction teams throughout the tender process
- Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required
Ideal Candidate
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or Assistant within scaffolding or the wider construction sector
- Strong understanding of scaffolding systems, access solutions, and site requirements
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
- Highly organised and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar (preferred but not essential)
