The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a contractor for a project in East Sussex. This client is a drylining foreman working on a residential site. This is an ongoing freelance position to start ASAP. This client is looking for a Drylining working foreman or a non-working drylining foreman.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and oversee drylining teams (fixers, tapers, labourers)
- Organise daily work tasks and allocate labour effectively
- Ensure tasks are completed to the required standards and within deadlines
- Check all drylining work meets design specs and quality standards
- Identify defects and ensure and maintain snag list
- Enforce health and safety policies and ensure safe working practices
- Carry out toolbox talks, site inductions and daily briefings
- Ensure proper use of PPE and that equipment is safely set up and maintained
- Act as the main point of contact between the drylining team, site management and other trades
- Attend site meetings and provide progress updates
- Coordinate with other trades to avoid clashes and ensure efficient workflow
- Review drawings, specifications and method statements
- Plan material requirements and ensure materials are ordered and available on time
- Help schedule labour and sequence tasks to meet program deadlines
- Provide hands-on guidance and support to team members
- Solve on-site technical issues related to drylining systems
- Maintain daily/weekly site records and progress reports
- Record labour hours, material usage and any delays or disruptions
- Ensure compliance documentation is completed
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working as a foreman
- Experience managing a group of dryliners
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management
- Relevant tickets
