I'm currently working with a well-established residential developer who is entering a busy phase of growth and is looking to appoint two experienced Quantity Surveyors to join their commercial team. These are permanent opportunities offering involvement across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction and live delivery through to post-completion and defect cost management. The roles sit within a collaborative commercial function, working closely with site, technical, design and customer care teams.
Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of residential construction projects
- Cost planning, forecasting and reporting throughout delivery
- Reviewing contract documentation and subcontract appointments
- Valuing subcontract works, variations and material packages
- Preparing CVRs and Cost to Complete reports, identifying risk and opportunity
- Supporting staffing and resourcing decisions alongside project teams
- Assisting with post-completion defect cost control in liaison with customer care
Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale residential developments
- A strong track record of commercial control from pre-construction to handover
- HNC or equivalent in construction or surveying
- A Quantity Surveying degree (desirable)
- Strong commercial judgement and analytical capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A detail-driven, solutions-focused mindset
- Confidence managing competing priorities under pressure
- Good working knowledge of construction legislation and regulations
- Experience using construction software and Microsoft Office
