The role & about the client: ITS Construction are recruiting on behalf of a client for experienced Mechanical Gas Installation Engineers to work on secure-sector and large-scale construction projects. This position is focused solely on installation work and is not suitable for maintenance or servicing engineers. The role is primarily local to Portsmouth and Southampton, with flexibility required to stay away on occasions. Due to the secure nature of the projects, candidates must meet security clearance requirements.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out mechanical and gas installation works on construction projects
- Installing pipework, plant, and associated mechanical systems
- Working from technical drawings and specifications
- Ensuring compliance with gas safety regulations and health & safety standards
- Coordinating with site management and other trades
- Delivering work to programme and quality expectations
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Gas Installation Engineer
- Installation background essential - maintenance and servicing engineers will not be considered
- Relevant NVQ and/or City & Guilds mechanical/gas qualifications
- Experience on construction or secure-sector projects preferred
- willing to stay away when required
- No unspent or upcoming convictions (security clearance requirement)
- UK passport essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional, reliable, and safety conscious
