The role & about the client: ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a reputable brickwork contractor for an experienced Working Foreman to join their team on a range of high-quality construction projects across the Guildford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson or foreman to take on a leadership role, overseeing daily site operations and ensuring that all brickwork packages are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will coordinate site teams, manage resources, and liaise closely with project managers to deliver exceptional results on time and within specification.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and manage a team of operatives on-site.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily site activities.
- Monitor quality and progress to ensure all work meets specification and deadlines.
- Enforce health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
- Support and train operatives in best practices and safety standards.
- Resolve on-site issues promptly and effectively.
- Manage and maintain materials and equipment levels on-site.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Proven experience as a Working Foreman or similar supervisory role within brickwork or general construction.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to direct teams effectively.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
- Competent in problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
- Experience using Fieldwire or similar construction management software (advantageous).
- CSCS Card (essential).
- SSSTS (preferred).
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
