Our client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor, recognised for delivering some of the UK s most complex and prestigious construction projects across commercial, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and residential sectors. They are seeking a talented Bid Manager to join their high-performing pre-construction team and lead the development of winning bids that secure major projects. As Bid Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full bid lifecycle, ensuring the timely and high-quality submission of tenders that reflect the company s standards and win strategy. You ll work closely with estimators, planners, design managers, and senior stakeholders to produce compelling, client-focused proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the bid process from initial enquiry to submission
  • Develop and manage the bid programme, ensuring all deadlines are achieved
  • Chair bid meetings and manage inputs from estimators, planners, and technical teams
  • Craft high-quality, client-tailored written content and presentations
  • Analyse client requirements and develop winning strategies and differentiators
  • Work with the Pre-Construction Director to ensure bids are commercially sound
  • Drive continuous improvement of bid quality, processes, and win rates

The ideal candidate will have/be

  • Proven experience as a Bid Manager within a Tier 1 or large Tier 2 main contractor
  • Strong understanding of the UK construction industry and procurement routes (Design & Build, JCT, NEC)
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Collaborative, confident, and commercially astute
