The role & about the client: ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor for an experienced Site Engineer to join their growing Building division. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile commercial and education projects across the South East, with project values exceeding £50 million. The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical delivery of projects from groundworks through to completion, working alongside experienced Project Managers, Design Teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards. This contractor has an excellent reputation for investing in its people, offering genuine career progression and a strong pipeline of secured work.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out setting out and surveying using Robotic Total Stations.
- Review drawings, specifications and raise technical queries where required.
- Coordinate subcontractors and support the day-to-day delivery of site operations.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are completed using FieldView/Autodesk Build.
- Arrange and witness material testing and maintain accurate site records.
- Monitor progress against programme and assist in resolving technical issues.
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained across all site activities.
- Mentor Graduate and Trainee Engineers where appropriate.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Design Teams and the wider site team to deliver projects successfully.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer working for a main contractor.
- Strong setting out and surveying experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Experience using QA software such as FieldView or Autodesk Build.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable experience:
- Experience working on projects valued in excess of £50 million.
- Commercial or Education project experience.
- Knowledge of BIM, digital engineering or temporary works coordination.
