ITS Construction Professionals South are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing client advisory and project management consultancy for an Assistant Project Manager to join their team in Winchester. The consultancy works predominantly across the education sector and with Local Authorities, providing strategic client advice and project management services across a range of construction projects.
As Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and wider project teams to ensure successful delivery. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage new-build and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and manage project programmes, budgets and delivery strategies.
- Coordinate and manage design teams, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Support clients through procurement and tender processes.
- Monitor project progress, cost, quality and programme.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates and reports to clients.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and potential delays.
- Manage changes to project scope, cost and programme.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to clients throughout the project.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team of project managers and client advisors.
- Assist with the successful delivery of education projects across a varied portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the construction industry.
- Experience delivering both new-build and refurbishment projects.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- Good understanding of construction procurement and contract processes.
- Experience managing consultants, contractors and wider project teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project budgets.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Previous experience within the education or public sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- Relevant qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent would be beneficial.
