We are currently recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking construction business with exciting and ambitious plans for growth. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced SHEQ - Senior Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop their Safety, Health, Environment and Quality function.
This is a senior, influential position, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to shape strategy, drive cultural change and play a key role in supporting the business as it continues to grow.
The Role
- Reporting into senior leadership, you will have full responsibility for SHEQ across the business, acting as a strategic partner while remaining visible and engaged with operational teams.
- Leading and implementing the SHEQ strategy in line with business objectives.
- Driving a positive, proactive H&S culture across all construction projects.
- Ensuring full compliance with UK H&S, environmental and quality legislation.
- Managing audits, inspections, accreditations and certifications.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to senior management and site teams.
- Leading, mentoring and developing the SHEQ team.
- Monitoring performance, reporting on KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
About You
- Proven experience in a senior H&S or SHEQ leadership role within the construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction-related H&S legislation and best practice.
- Confident influencing at board and senior management level.
- A proactive, solutions-focused leader with the ability to embed cultural change.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
