We are recruiting on behalf of a forward‐thinking main contractor operating across both the private and public sectors, with exciting and ambitious plans for continued growth. Due to a strong and growing pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to support the pre‐construction team and play a key role in securing and delivering major construction projects.
This is a senior position offering influence across bidding strategy, cost planning and value engineering, working closely with commercial, design and operational teams.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you will take responsibility for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for major construction projects, ensuring bids are commercially sound and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and leading cost estimates and tenders for large‐scale construction projects
- Managing the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission
- Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications
- Working closely with design, commercial and operational teams during pre‐construction
- Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Identifying risk, opportunity and value engineering solutions
- Supporting bid strategy, pricing reviews and tender presentations
- Assisting with handover from pre‐construction to delivery teams
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within main contracting
- Strong background pricing major or complex construction projects
- Experience working across public and private sector tenders
- Solid understanding of construction methods, contracts and commercial principles
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
- Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office
