We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking main contractor operating across both the private and public sectors, with exciting and ambitious plans for continued growth. Due to a strong pipeline of major construction projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Design Manager to support and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.
This is a key role within the delivery team, offering exposure to complex, high-value projects and the opportunity to work closely with clients, consultants and internal teams.
The Role
As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly and in line with programme and commercial objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the design process across major construction projects
- Coordinating internal teams and external consultants
- Ensuring designs are compliant with building regulations, planning and employer’s requirements
- Managing design programmes and ensuring timely issue of information
- Identifying and managing design risk and change
- Supporting pre-construction, tender and value engineering activities
- Liaising with project, commercial and site teams to ensure buildability
