Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor Location: Wolverhampton (Office Based) – Covering Projects Across the North Midlands Salary: Up to £65,000 + Package A well-established and highly regarded main contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Wolverhampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing construction business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the Midlands. Working as part of a collaborative commercial team, you will support the financial management of projects across the North Midlands region, ensuring commercial performance is effectively managed from project start through to final account. Role Overview As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of construction projects, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining strong commercial control. Key Responsibilities * Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects from start through to final account. * Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. * Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including tendering and negotiations. * Assess subcontractor applications and prepare payment certificates. * Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance. * Manage variations and change control processes. * Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved. * Prepare valuations, financial reports, and final accounts. * Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team. Requirements * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment. * Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management processes. * Experience managing subcontractor procurement and cost control. * Good understanding of the construction project lifecycle. * Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
