We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking main contractor with exciting plans for continued growth. Due to ongoing project wins, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their Small Works Division, delivering a range of main contracting projects valued up to £7-8 million. This role offers autonomy, variety and the opportunity to work for a business that genuinely supports its site teams while investing in long-term development.
The Role
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all on-site activities from start to completion
- Delivering main contracting projects up to £7-8m in value
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality and environmental standards
- Managing programmes, short-term planning and site logistics
- Liaising with project managers, commercial teams and clients
- Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress
- Driving a positive site culture and high-quality workmanship
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within main contracting
- Strong background delivering small to medium-sized projects (up to £7-8m)
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, H&S legislation and site management best practice
- Able to manage multiple workstreams and subcontract packages
- Confident communicator with a hands-on, proactive approach
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications (essential)
