We are working with a leading regional main contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of high-value construction projects while working for a business that prides itself on quality delivery, long-term relationships, and investing in its people.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering main contracting projects valued from £10 million and above, across a diverse portfolio including education, healthcare, commercial, and public sector schemes, all located within the Leicester area. This role offers excellent long-term progression, ongoing training and development, and regular salary reviews within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
- Full project lifecycle management of main contracting schemes valued £10m+
- Planning, coordination, and delivery of complex construction projects
- Management of programme, cost control, and quality assurance
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures
- Leading and coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Managing client, consultant, and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Chairing progress meetings, design team meetings, and pre-start meetings
- Monitoring project performance and driving corrective actions where required
- Working closely with commercial teams to support financial and contractual performance
- Promoting best practice, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all project stages
About You
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager within a main contracting environment
- Experience delivering projects valued at £10m+
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods and project delivery
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
- SMSTS, CSCS and relevant construction qualification (desirable)
- Organised, proactive, and solutions-driven approach
