The MEP Manager will lead the successful delivery of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) services from pre-construction through to construction, commissioning, and final handover. The role is responsible for coordinating building services design, managing consultant and subcontractor performance, and ensuring technical compliance across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central point for coordinating building services design and installation across projects.
- Provide oversight and coordination of external design consultants and specialist subcontractors.
- Review pre-construction design information to ensure technical compliance and identify value engineering opportunities.
- Work closely with estimating teams and client cost advisors to review supply chain tenders, ensuring proposals meet cost, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor the performance of design consultants and subcontractors throughout PCSA and project delivery stages, supporting project teams where required.
- Advise on scopes for project-specific design appointments.
- Work alongside BIM and design management teams to support effective design coordination.
- Contribute to the implementation of Modern Methods of Construction where applicable to building services.
Project Delivery
- Attend design, coordination, and client meetings, including project interviews where required.
- Support project programme delivery, particularly the planning and management of MEP installation and commissioning phases.
- Assist with the development of Soft Landings strategies for projects.
- Support the implementation of quality control procedures related to MEP installations.
- Chair MEP design coordination meetings and represent the organisation at key project meetings.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues relating to MEP defects or latent defects.
