We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing construction business based in Brierley Hill, who are looking to appoint a Trainee Commercial professional to join their expanding commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the construction industry, with the opportunity to develop across Buying, Quantity Surveying and Estimating.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced commercial team, you will gain practical experience across a range of commercial functions. The role will provide exposure to:

  • Buying and procurement
  • Estimating and preparing quotations
  • Quantity surveying and commercial management
  • Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Assisting with project costs, budgets and financial reporting
  • Supporting tender and bid preparation
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
  • Commercial administration and project documentation
  • Occasional visits to construction sites

The position is predominantly office-based, with occasional site visits as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is ambitious, organised and keen to develop a career within the commercial side of construction. You will ideally have:

  • A genuine interest in construction and commercial management
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A full UK driving licence
  • The ability to commute to the head office in Leominster within approximately 30 minutes
