We are currently recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing home improvement and residential construction company operating across Birmingham, the West Midlands, and surrounding areas. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Home Improvement Sales & Estimating Representative with a strong construction background and the ability to accurately quote and price residential renovation works. This role would suit someone with hands-on industry knowledge who understands residential construction, building processes, materials, and project costs — not just sales alone.

The Role

  • You will attend pre-qualified customer appointments at residential properties, discussing renovation requirements, surveying works, preparing quotations, and converting opportunities into signed projects.
  • This is a consultative sales role where technical construction knowledge is essential. Candidates must be confident advising homeowners on practical renovation solutions, timelines, and realistic project costs.
  • All appointments are warm leads generated internally — there is no cold calling involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend 10–15 pre-booked customer appointments per week
  • Conduct site surveys and assess customer renovation requirements
  • Accurately measure, estimate, and prepare quotations for residential building works
  • Advise customers on construction methods, project scope, timelines, and specifications
  • Prepare and issue professional quotations, ideally within the same day
  • Build strong relationships with homeowners through professionalism and technical knowledge
  • Negotiate and close sales while maintaining excellent customer service
  • Manage appointments and pipeline effectively to achieve targets

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the home improvement or residential construction industry
  • Previous experience pricing, estimating, surveying, or quoting renovation works
  • Strong understanding of residential building projects including extensions, refurbishments, structural alterations, kitchens, roofing, and general renovations
  • Proven B2C sales experience within the home improvement sector
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Organised and self-motivated approach
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
