We are recruiting on behalf of a Tier 1 contractor for an experienced Construction Manager to join a high-profile defence project. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in one of the most significant and complex construction projects in the sector. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, working closely with stakeholders to manage the day-to-day site operations and overcome technical challenges.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage the construction phase of a large-scale defence project.
  • Develop and implement detailed construction plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Lead site teams, including subcontractors and direct labour, to ensure efficient and safe delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Manage budgets and costs, ensuring financial performance targets are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners.

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager on complex, high-value projects (preferably within defence, infrastructure, or similar secure environments).
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contracts (e.g., NEC), and project controls.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and risk effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Security clearance (or the ability to obtain it) is essential due to the nature of the project.
