About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Plumber to join a facilities maintenance team based at HMP Woking. This is a varied role combining planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs, where you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plumbing and water systems across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plumbing systems
- Respond quickly to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns
- Maintain and repair hot & cold domestic water systems
- Work on pipework, valves, and sanitary systems
- Diagnose and fix leaks, blockages, and general plumbing faults
- Maintain toilets, sinks, showers, and drainage systems
- Monitor and uphold water hygiene standards
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations
- Accurately complete job reports and maintenance records
- Work safely within a secure environment
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in PPM and reactive maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Must be eligible for enhanced security clearance
Desirable:
- Experience in custodial, MOD, or healthcare environments
